Fever Scout FAQs
What is the accuracy of Fever Scout?

The sensor meets the ASTM E1112 standard. It is accurate to ±0.2°F(0.1°C) between 98.6°F-102.2°F(37°C-39°C); ±0.4°F(0.2°C) between 95°F-98.6°F(35°C-37°C), and 102.2°F-107.6°F(39°C-42°C). Exact position of the patch and ambient temperature can affect results.

What is the range for Fever Scout to connect with the smartphone?

As long as the charging dock is near the patch, the range can extend up to 100 feet. This range can vary based on the location of the patch, and the surrounding environment which may interfere with the Bluetooth signals.

How long is the Fever Scout battery life?

The battery will last approximately 1 week between charges.

How do I know if the charger is working?

The LED light will turn on up for 15 seconds when the patch is placed on the charger to indicate that it is successfully charging the patch. When the batteries are low, the LED light will blink for 15 seconds when the patch is placed on the charger.

Where is the correct placement for the patch?

For the most accurate measurements, the patch needs to be placed under the arm, just below the armpit.

Can you reuse the Fever Scout Patch?

Yes. We recommend replacing the adhesives on the patch for each use.

How many days can the patch be left on?

The patch is functional as long as there is still a charge, but the adhesive may need to be replaced depending on the situation.

Does Fever Scout work with all smartphones and tablets?

Our current software is compatible with iOS 8.0 or later, and Android 4.3 or later.

Can I use the Fever Scout App with multiple patches?

At this time, the Fever Scout App only supports single patch monitoring. However, you are able to monitor a single patch from multiple devices remotely using the same account.

Is Fever Scout waterproof?

Fever Scout is water resistant, however we don't recommend immersing your Fever Scout in water. Doing so can display inaccurate temperature readings.

Is the patch material safe?

Yes. The materials on the patches are biocompatible, lead-free, and BPA-free.

Is Bluetooth safe?

The Fever Scout uses a radio technology called Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). The SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) value is around .001 watts/kg, which is less than 1/1000th of the SAR limit for cell phones set by the FDA and FCC. Bluetooth emits much lower levels of radio frequency than smartphones or other Wi-Fi-based devices – the risk is negligible.
